We completed "Tough Mudder" which is a 12-mile endurance course in 2 and a half hours. We had to tackle 24 military obstacles such as 12ft walls, 10,000 volt wires, a mile of mud, a log carry, cargo nets and Ice baths and carry on running all the way to the finish line. Having woken up at 5:30am the three of us drove up to Kettering stopping off for a hearty breakfast of 'Pain au Chocolates' on the way. We then arrived at the Tough Mudder holding area and after a warm up we started off in our group of 350 runners at 10:00am. We kept up a steady fast running pace for the whole course and overtook a good few hundred people, however we always kept up a good spirit of teamwork and every participant helped each other. We would never have completed the course without being helped by others by being pulled out of waist deep mud and equally helping others when we had completed an obstacle. There was a fantastic sense of camaraderie and as a team the three of us had an enormous amount of fun completing this exhausting challenge.
Thank you to all those who sponsored us, on behalf of Ben, Nick and myself I would like to personally thank you for all your support and sponsorship. Thanks to all the generous contributions the 'Trim Trail' assault course at Charterhouse will now be built! It feels great to be able to leave something behind for others to be inspired by and it would not have been possible without all your help.
Kind Regards,
Ben Wilberforce-Ritchie.
